Studies show that teenagers need around 60 minutes of fairly intense exercise per day.
Unfortunately they are also getting accustomed to spending a far more amount of time in front of various media such as TV, video games or the internet etc.
As children they were probably little bundles of energy, but now they are tired and a little sluggish more often than not.
This class caters to the critical thinker, we aim to develop the ability to make decisions. There can often be discussions with this group about the importance of some of our teaching.
We do certain drills, develop certain skills that nourishes with the developing teen/pre-teen brain. It also can aid and assisting them to become more aware of their own place on the emotional and physical spectrum.
We are conscious that they are experiencing a change in hormones and emotions for the first time and are constantly keeping in mind what peers might think of them.

The Youth Karate program extends on from our children’s programs and addresses the needs and learning styles of our teenage members STARTING HIGH SCHOOL to 15 years old usually.
The skills and drills encompass all of the skills required in the adult program.

We focus a lot on basic exercise technique to get the kids in love with fitness and healthy activity, and create a solid foundation for the future.
We also use a little more sport application to maintain a higher heart rate while having fun and learning basic self defence skills.

This is a karate based program, but we include a variety non-striking options. We have also incorporated hugely effective non striking/grappling principles into our classes.
The non-striking option is important considering that we prefer our members to use the minimal amount of force possible.
