SAFE Women’s Self Defence is our specialised self-defence program. The acronym SAFE stands for Situational Awareness For Empowerment and the course goes far beyond mere self-defence by teaching skills that can be used every day.

Almost everyone has daily situations where the ability to be confident, assertive and in control is important. In fact, many students say the program dramatically changed their lives by giving them the confidence to attain important goals, become leaders at school or work, but most of all, stand up for themselves when needed.

S.A.F.E Women’s Self Defence programs are based on teaching women to deal with the adrenal stress survival response. Feel more comfortable in awkward situations. Or be more assertive in day to day life if needed. Without training, this response causes most people to freeze or flail.

With this training many ladies and girls transform adrenaline and fear into incredible power!

Some of the topics covered include:

  • Basic Awareness and Prevention Skills
  • Survival Stress and it’s Effects
  • Stopping Threats Using Clear Verbal Communication
  • Physical Defence Scenarios including those awkward moments where you may freeze and feel uncomfortable.

The program uses scenarios that teach students to recognize potential problems before they arise and then to establish clear and assertive verbal boundaries to stop the attack. According to experts, these skills alone can stop over 95% of situations before they become physically violent. The SAFE Women’s Self Defence programs are very successful because they teach students how NOT to play the victim role that gets many people into trouble.
